Maria Welser is originally from Mokena, Illinois. She is an aspiring actress and playwright who enjoys the work of Quiara Alegría Hudes. She is a senior at Saint Mary’s College majoring in Writing and Theater. After graduation, she is joining the 2016 Notre Dame Shakespeare Young and Professional Company.

 

Some of her favorite collegiate credits include Laura in “The Glass Menagerie”, John in “Gossamer”, Montjoy in “Henry the V”, and Sob Sister in “Radium Girls” all of which earned her nominations for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship. At Saint Mary’s, Maria had the opportunity to sing with the Saint Mary’s Women’s Choir, Bellacapella, and at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center where she studied musical theater with the National Theater Institute.
